A New Way Forward

Our campaign is about a New Way Forward for Missouri, one that protects our fundamental freedoms, strengthens our democracy, and ensures every family has the opportunity not just to get by, but to get ahead.

In the Missouri House, Ray Reed has always stood up for people over powerful interests. Whether taking on policies that hurt working families, defending reproductive freedom, protecting public education, or cutting red tape so more Missourians can fully participate in our economy, Ray has fought to make government work for the people it serves.

Ray believes leadership is about service, accountability, and bringing people together around our highest aspirations. He is committed to being a representative for everyone in this district: listening first, leading with integrity, and delivering real results.

From his early work in public service to his time in Jefferson City, Ray’s mission has remained the same: fight for working families, protect our rights, and build a Missouri where everyone has a fair shot at success.

Building an Opportunity Economy and Lower Costs for Families

Rep. Ray Reed believes that when working families are strong, Missouri is strong.

Growing up in the St. Louis region and now starting a family in Maplewood with his wife Natalia, Rep. Reed understands firsthand what so many families are feeling: housing costs are rising, groceries cost more, childcare is expensive, and it feels harder than ever to get ahead. In a state where Republicans hold a supermajority, Ray knows we won’t win every fight, but that won’t stop him from fighting for you.

In Jefferson City, Ray is focused on building an opportunity economy that works for everyday Missourians, not just well-connected insiders. That means:

  • Lowering costs for families by supporting policies that expand access to affordable healthcare, protect reproductive freedom, and increase housing supply.

  • Growing good-paying jobs by backing unions, workforce development, and cutting unnecessary licensing barriers that keep qualified Missourians from working.

  • Supporting small businesses and entrepreneurs so local shops and startups, not just large corporations, can thrive.

  • Investing in public education to ensure every child, whether in a small town, suburb, or city, has a real shot at success.

Ray believes in being honest with voters: with a Republican supermajority, progress requires persistence, coalition-building, and smart strategy. That means working across the aisle where possible, standing firm when necessary, and always putting working families first.

Re-electing Ray Reed means keeping a voice in Jefferson City who understands the pressures facing young families, shows up ready to do the hard work, and is committed to building a Missouri where you don’t just scrape by, you have a fair shot to get ahead.

Safeguard Our Fundamental Freedoms

Ray Reed believes the fight for our future is a fight for freedom.

In 2026, Missourians will once again face a critical choice. After passing one of the most extreme abortion bans in the country, Republican lawmakers have put their abortion ban back on the ballot as Amendment 3. Ray will be voting NO on Amendment 3 because decisions about pregnancy and reproductive healthcare belong to women and their doctors, not politicians in Jefferson City.

Ray trusts women. He believes families facing deeply personal, often heartbreaking medical decisions deserve compassion, privacy, and freedom not government mandates and criminal penalties for doctors. Missouri’s abortion ban created fear and confusion in hospitals, putting women’s health at risk. That is not freedom. That is government overreach.

But this fight is about more than just one issue. It’s about whether we protect the fundamental freedoms that define our democracy:

  • The freedom to make your own healthcare decisions.

  • The freedom to love who you love openly and without fear.

  • The freedom to vote and have your voice heard.

With Republicans holding a supermajority in Missouri, Ray knows these freedoms are not guaranteed. That’s why he has been a consistent voice in the legislature defending reproductive freedom, standing up for LGBTQ+ Missourians, and opposing efforts to undermine voting access.

Re-electing Ray Reed means keeping a proven advocate in Jefferson City who will stand firm against Amendment 3, defend our fundamental freedoms, and fight to ensure Missouri remains a place where government respects your rights not controls your life.

Ensure Safety and Justice for All

Rep. Reed is part of the school shooter generation.

He had to learn active shooter drills before he even learned how to read. He grew up practicing where to hide, how to barricade a door, and how to stay quiet in case the unthinkable happened. That perspective is not common in the Missouri House of Representatives but it is common among young families raising children today.

Ray believes every child deserves the freedom to learn without fear. Every parent deserves the peace of mind that their child will come home safely. And every community deserves both safety and justice.

That means being serious about reducing gun violence while respecting responsible gun ownership. Ray supports:

  • Universal background checks to keep guns out of the hands of violent criminals and domestic abusers.

  • Red flag laws that allow courts to temporarily remove firearms from individuals who pose a clear danger to themselves or others.

  • Investments in school safety and mental health services, so we are preventing violence before it happens.

  • Community-based violence prevention programs that have been proven to reduce crime.

At the same time, Ray believes safety and justice go hand in hand. That means supporting law enforcement officers who serve honorably, ensuring they have the training and resources they need, while also holding everyone accountable under the law. No one is above the law.

With Republicans holding a supermajority in Missouri, Ray knows sweeping reforms won’t come easily. But he also knows that doing nothing is not an option. As a legislator, and as someone preparing to raise a family here in District 83 this fight is personal.

Re-electing Ray Reed means keeping a voice in Jefferson City who understands the lived reality of today’s generation, who believes we can protect constitutional rights and save lives at the same time, and who will keep pushing for commonsense solutions so every Missourian can live in a safe, just community.

Immigration isn’t an abstract issue for Rep. Reed. It’s personal.

Ray and his wife Natalia have experienced firsthand how complicated, expensive, and broken our immigration system can be. Even with access to legal guidance and public service experience, they’ve seen how confusing the process is for families simply trying to follow the rules and build a life here. That experience has shaped Ray’s commitment to fighting for a more compassionate, practical, and functional system.

In Jefferson City, Ray has led efforts to remove unnecessary barriers that prevent immigrants from fully contributing to our communities and economy. He has worked to challenge outdated licensing restrictions that keep qualified DACA recipients and immigrants from entering professions they’ve trained for, including healthcare, where Missouri faces serious workforce shortages. Ray believes that if you study here, work hard here, and call Missouri home, you should have a fair shot at opportunity.

He also believes we can be both a nation of laws and a nation of immigrants. That means:

  • Supporting practical solutions that strengthen border management while fixing the legal immigration and asylum process.

  • Protecting Dreamers who have grown up in this country and know no other home.

  • Ensuring state policies don’t create fear or push immigrant families further into the shadows.

  • Standing up for due process, dignity, and equal protection under the law.

Missouri is stronger because of immigrants: in our hospitals, classrooms, small businesses, and neighborhoods. Ray will continue leading with compassion, common sense, and a commitment to making our immigration system work for families, communities, and our shared future.
